The FIFA World Cup 2026 kicks off on Thursday, 11 June 2026, when host nation Mexico face South Africa at the iconic Mexico City Stadium, making it the first stadium to host matches at three separate men's World Cups. The tournament runs for 39 days across 16 venues in three countries, wrapping up with the final at New York New Jersey Stadium (officially renamed from MetLife Stadium for the duration of the event) on Sunday, 19 July 2026.
